Who makes Molekule air purifiers?
Molekule is a science and technology company based in the United States. The company was founded in 2014 by Dr. Yogi Goswami after he developed a new clean air technology called photoelectrochemical oxidation, or PECO for short. Motivated by the desire to help his son’s asthma, Dr. Goswami sought to address the negative impacts of air pollution by creating a technology that could not only capture air pollutants but destroy them at a molecular level.
With the goal of providing clean air to households across the globe, Molekule is on a mission to protect you from airborne invaders and empower you to take control of the air you breathe.
Who are Molekule air purifiers best suited for?
Anyone can benefit from having a Molekule air purifier, especially those with allergies to chemical and environmental pollutants. The technology is safe for people and pets, and with the ability to target pet dander, Molekule is looking out for your furry friends and feathery animal companions. From the packaging to the purifier, Molekule knows how to make a high-quality product. In addition to the purifier being sturdy and well-made, it also has a durable vegan leather strap. The strap is great for when you need to move the air purifier, and it’s especially helpful when moving the Air Pro due to the size and weight of the device. Molekule air purifiers also come with a thick, durable cover, which helps protect the air purifier in storage and during travel.
When it comes to technology, Molekule delivers. Equipped with PECO technology, Molekule air purifiers successfully destroy pollutants like VOCs, bacteria, mold, and viruses. Not to mention, PECO is backed by decades of scientific research, designed by leaders in the air purification industry, and extensively tested in in-house and third-party laboratories. In other words, Molekule’s team is made up of the science and research gurus you want designing your air purifier. And, as a science and tech company dedicated to making your indoor air safer, you can be sure you’re getting the most innovative air purification technology on the market.
Easy to Use
The only thing better than a high-quality air purifier is one that is easy to set up and maintain. With a Molekule air purifier, the setup process is streamlined for you with easy-to-follow instructions, and the device itself is low-maintenance. Aside from replacing the filter every six months, no maintenance is needed. Simply plug in your air purifier and breathe easy knowing your air is actively being cleaned 24/7.
Is the Molekule Air Purifier a Good Value?
Molekule air purifiers are a great value. From technology and design to usability and performance, Molekule air purifiers have all the high-tech features, stylish aesthetics, and innovative qualities you would expect to find in a premium air purifier. Although Molekule air purifiers are expensive, they offer exceptional value for the benefits they provide, especially when seen as an investment in your health.
What is a PECO-HEPA Tri-Power filter?
A PECO-HEPA Tri-Power filter uses a combination of three technologies–carbon, HEPA, and PECO–to neutralize the army of offenders in your air. The first line of defense is activated carbon, which works to remove odors and gasses. Next is HEPA. Well-known in the air purification industry, HEPA does an impressive job capturing pollutant particles in the matrix of a filter’s fibers. The third and final layer of protection is PECO. Short for photoelectrochemical oxidation, PECO is a light-activated nanotechnology that not only captures pollutants but destroys them at a molecular level. In fancy science terms, PECO uses free radicals to oxidize (break down) harmful pollutants into harmless, naturally occurring elements like water. Power-packed and highly effective, Molekule’s PECO-HEPA Tri-Power filter provides you with three times the defense against airborne pollutants compared to traditional filters.
What airborne pollutants do Molekule air purifiers target?
Which air purifier is best for my living space?
There are two models to choose from when you buy a Molekule air purifier, the Air Pro and the Air Mini+. The Air Pro covers up to 1,000 square feet, which makes it great for large living spaces like bedrooms and living rooms. The Air Mini+ is a miniature version of the Air Pro and covers up to 250 square feet, making it perfect for small spaces like kids’ bedrooms and home offices.
Is WiFi needed to use the air purifiers?
No. Your Molekule air purifier will continue to work its magic keeping your air clean regardless if WiFi is turned on. You can also disable WiFi on the air purifier’s display screen once it has been enabled. When WiFi is disabled, you will not be able to control the air purifier’s settings from your phone, see the Indoor Air Report on your phone, or use any other functions on the mobile app.
How loud is the air purifier?
The Air Pro has six manual fan speeds, with level one being the quietest and level six being the loudest. At level one, the fan is quiet. At level three, the fan is equivalent to white noise. And by level six, get ready for take-off because the fan is loud. Levels one through three are great for everyday use when the air quality is good and levels four through six are great for when you leave the house or have bad air quality.
Our Experience With the Molekule Air Pro Purifier
When the Air Pro arrived, I was immediately drawn to the detailed packaging, which showcases a few of the air purifier’s features in white writing and stylized graphics. The instruction card is designed in a similar way, which makes setting up the purifier a smooth and easy process. From start to finish, it only took about 10 minutes to get the air purifier up and running, and that included assembling the filter and pairing the device to my phone.
I was initially hesitant about the purifier being connected to WiFi but was quickly reassured when I realized WiFi can be temporarily turned off or disabled entirely. I also came to appreciate the features of the mobile app, like the Indoor Air Report and Air Score. The app also shows several air quality factors, like VOCs, PM2.5 (fine particles like dust), and PM10 (coarse particles like pet dander). Being able to see what particles are detected in my house gives me a better understanding of the pollutants I’m exposed to daily, as well as peace of mind knowing the Air Pro is working around the clock to get rid of them.
As a dog owner, I love that Molekule air purifiers target pet dander. My dog, Micah, is a high-energy goldendoodle who loves outdoor adventures, indoor games of hide-and-seek, and snuggling on the bed (with his head on the pillow). He’s 50 lbs of fluff and makes his presence known through lots of puppy love and dog fur. So, it’s not surprising that, despite being a low-shedding breed, Micah’s doodle fluff spreads dander throughout the house. With the Air Pro, I’m confident that Micah’s dander is being detected and removed from the air, and with the mobile app, I have the data to prove it. Even without measurable data, I can feel the air around me is cleaner. The sleek, modern design also matches the décor of any home, which is great since air purifiers aren’t devices you can discretely hide.
My only complaint is the air purifier doesn’t have a dark mode. While the blue light is necessary for the PECO technology to work effectively, it also means the device glows at night with no option for dimming it or turning it off. I have the Air Pro in my living room, so the light isn’t an issue, but it could be bothersome in a bedroom, especially if you like sleeping in a dark room. Overall, I love the Air Pro and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a premium air purifier and effective clean air solution.
